Head of the Department: Jasmina Uroda Kutlić
The cultural and historical department is the oldest one and it has been operating since 1960, so since the inception of the Museum. The fundus was divided on an archive department and a collection of items. The collection of items, in the previous historical department, was filled with items from NOB (the National Liberation Struggle) and also with the collection about older history of Moslavina. After the political changes in 90's the collection about older history of Moslavina became a bigger part of the permanent exhibition.
Within the framework of its historical study of the town of Kutina and the broader region, cultural and historical department collects items from the secular history of the town of Kutina. The oldest items are linked with the founding of the trade guild (charter, guild chest). Since there was a Jewish community in Kutina, the Museum holds a number of ritual objects linked with the Jewish religion and culture.A significant number of items is related to education and every day life. Also, an important part of the fundus, and the permanent exhibition, take the items from the Croatian Homeland War The cultural and historical department hasn't had a cuiator for 15 years and therefor the fundus of the department has remained smaller and untreated. With the arrival of curiator on the 1 st of December in 2008 the primary museum activities were re-establishrd and fundus was processed. The fundus became much bigger and today the Department has over a 1000 inventory units in 9 different collections.
